First things first: Iceland's name is slightly misleading, considering that the only really ice-covered places are the glaciers, and in the middle of the winter, perhaps some northern cities. The rest of the country is entirely covered by volcanic debris such as rock and ash. Shallow layers of moss and grass grow on the remains of eruptions from the past; as a result, there are literally no trees. Just bushes, if you're lucky enough to see one.
Secondly, Iceland is, without a doubt, the most beautiful country I have ever been to.
Period.
There is no contest.
Forget the part about the volcanic stuff - Iceland has the freshest air, the nicest scenery, the best roads; you can even go snorkling.. in an arctic country. It really is on a whole different level than the rest of the world.
Now, on to the arty aspect of things - I took about 1500 pictures over the course of the trip, some of which are guaranteed to make it to this site. So hold tight.

I like your photography!
